Coconut House @ Jaya One

Sorry for the hiatus! I am back with a short blog post. This time it is all about food. :)

Last Saturday, I had my dinner at Coconut House with my family. It is an Italian restaurant, originated from Malacca then shifted to Pudu (closed) and now at Jaya One. And, it is a non-halal restaurant.

*Sorry, only managed to capture a few pictures of the place (and all in low quality) cuz i forgot to bring my camera out. :( *

Bricks <3

Look at the crowd! It was almost full when we arrived.

Here comes the food:

 Roasted Pumpkin soup

Pumpkin soup was creamy and so velvety-smooth. And I am not a huge fan of overly sweet soups. So this was acceptable, not overly sweet.

Garlic Bread

The garlic bread was good too with nice crispy edges and a soft, buttery center with garlic infusing every last bite. ahhh.. so good...

Carbonara

This was a major disappointment. Worst carbonara i have ever had in my life. Tasteless and oily.

Pork Chop

Pork was overcooked and dry! And look at the presentation of the pork chop, oh well...

 Sliced Pork with Rocket Pizza

I love this the most. Soft and chewy crust! And i prefer thin crust over thick crust. (:
All of us got hooked on the first bite! This is great dish to share among friends.

Overall, food was pretty average.

Taste: 5/10
Ambience: 8/10
Service: 5/10

Keep Pressing On.

I NEED A JOB. I NEED A JOB

I am still unemployed three months after graduating. And i am constantly being nagged by relatives and parents to just get a job in Malaysia. At one time, i was on a verge of giving up, giving up looking for a job in Singapore. Told J about it and of course he advised me not to give up. And if given a choice, I would not want to go through another round of long distance relationship again. No one wants to be in a long distance relationship. This is the reason why i have been looking for a job in Singapore and not Malaysia. Apparently, Singapore has this quota system thingy that regulates the ratio of foreigner and local workers in the workplace. This makes it even harder for me to get a job in Singapore. :(

"So don't get tired of doing what is good. Don't get discourage and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. "  (Galations 6:9)

It is ok Eleena. Just keep pressing on and God will provide. I know God has something great in store for me and I just need to continue to trust in Him. If He is making me wait, there is a very good reason for it. And I just need to wait on God's timing. God's timing is perfect and ours is often flawed.

For many of us, everyday seems like a roller coaster ride full of ups and downs. So remember to keep pressing in His strength. Do not give up the fight and you will see what God has in store for you.

                                                                 With love,
                                                                   Eleena

My fresh new look with Number76 (Publika outlet)

This is not a sponsored post.

Tada! New look! Those following me on Instagram (@eleenana_song) and friends on Facebook should have seen this yesterday!

After much deliberation, i decided to get bangs. Been wanting to get it for years, but never really had the guts to do it! You know la, there is no turning back for bangs. Once you have your bangs cut off, that's it.   And before deciding on getting bangs, i have always wanted to try Number 76 after all that hype! FYI, I came to know about Number 76 after reading Cheesie's and Fourfeetnine's blog.

So last Saturday, i made a reservation online via their website (http://www.number76.com/booking.aspx?ac=3). You get to select the branch ( either Mid Valley, Bangsar, Starhill or Publika) and hair stylist of your choice. Me chose Publika and Hikki-san. :)

Yesterday, I finally made a trip down to Number 76 at Publika! To be honest, before this i was quite gan jiong (nervous) la. Keep telling my sister 'i very gan jiong le' and she was like 'aiyo u gan jiong for what. just a hair salon only mar'. i dunno why but hair salons always make me really nervous and anxious because i don't know what to expect at all.  And one question, do u guys usually open or close your eyes when u get ur hair washed at the basin?

A cup of green tea and biscuit

As soon as i sat down, i was being served a cup of green tea and biscuit as well as a magazine. My hairstylist for the day was Hikki-san, Director of Number 76. Told Hikki-san what i wanted then she worked her magic. Snip snip snip and tadah---BANGS!

Hikki-san cutting my hair. love her beanie!

Next on, hair loss is a common problem with men and women across the world and i am one of them. I know i needed a treatment for my scalp to battle the problem and also to treat it before it is too late. And i have heard good reviews about the scalp treatment from Number 76.  So girls, if you are facing hair loss problem, it is better to get it treated before it starts to worsen (i.e. bald patches).  A clean scalp equals to healthy hair. :)

So we started off with a scan analysis using a mobile scalp scanner and an Ipad.

Scan check by another hair stylist to examine the conditions closely.

From the Ipad, the scalp scanner showed that my scalp looking slightly sensitive (with red bumps), slightly oily and clogged scalp. I was recommended by her to try Kerastase Scalp Peeling Treatment and also Tansan Sparkling Scalp Wash for a better effect and to clean my scalp thoroughly.

She started off by applying the Kerastase Peeling Purifiant and then gently massaging it into my scalp.  It was left on for about 15 minutes before my hair was washed with some Kerastase shampoo (forgot the name of it) before proceeding the the higly-raved Tansan Sparkling Scalp Wash (will talk about this later).

While waiting for the Kerastase Peeling Purifiant to sit in.

My sis while waiting for me.  Spot that little cutie boy over there. hehe.

Kerastase Scalp Tonic

After the Tansan Sparkling Scalp Wash, more Kerastase products including the scalp tonic were massaged into my scalp and hair before blowing dry.

Could feel the difference before and after scalp treatment - a cleaner and fresher scalp! You should try it too!

ok, next on.  What is Tansan Sparkling Scalp Wash a.k.a Tansan Spa?

It is a simple scalp treatment that can be done over the basin within few minutes. Using a high-powered hose, a combination of water and soda gas (or carbon dioxide) is sprayed onto the scalp. It instantly removes all dirt and excessive oil from the scalp and hair pores and draws out silicon from the hair. FYI, normal shampoo can't remove all these impurities.

Look at this! but mine was quite clean heh.

Here is a summary of what i did at Number 76:
1) Cut
2) Kerastase Peeling Purifiant treatment
3) Tansan Sparkling Scalp Wash

with Hikki-san.

Overall, I am pretty pleased with the service and satisfied with the hair cut and the new look. Thank you Hikki-san and also other hair stylists! Last but not least, I like the fact that they are very professional and they don't hardsell you the most expensive hair treatment(i know some hair salons still do that).  Will definitely come back again!

And guess what, upon payment, i received a bag of freebie, rm20 voucher and a membership card. Not only that, Hikki-san even gave my sis 3-day trial set shampoo and daily serum. THANKS HIKKI-SAN AND NUMBER 76. <3 (As shown from picture below)

My first blog post!

For years, i wanted to start a blog but didn't have the courage to do it.

So.....

It is with great excitement I take my first step in the world of blogging! yayy! So why read my blog?
Because i put in so much effort into it. *Kidding la*  But hor, preparing and editing the template and layout took me about four hours! *Don't Judge* newbie here. hehe. But I still wasn't pleased with my blog template and layout. :(

So back to the question...

Blogging gives me freedom to express my inner self and to follow my heart. :) Most importantly, it gives me a platform to be myself. So, this little space is where i pen down my thoughts together in a clear and concise way. Be it personal, experience, beauty, food or fashion reviews. :D

Thanks for reading my first blog post! Have a great day ahead!

Till then!

With love,
